In addition to attaching warning labels to the cord of our blinds, as part of our commitment to safety within the home, we fit the following safety devices to reduce the threat of child strangulation.
Cleats
Cleats are used for securing the cords of Aluminium Venetians and Timber Venetians. These cleats must be installed at least 1600mm above the floor level because a child is capable of unwinding a cord from a cleat.
Cord-Guides
Cord guides are used to secure the cords of Roller Blinds and Vertical Drapes. These cord guides must remain firmly attached to a wall or structure when subjected to a tension force of 70N applied in any direction for 10 seconds. These cord guides are installed in such a way that they prevent the possibility of a cord forming a loop 220mm or longer at a height of less than 1600mm above the floor level.
