Flyscreens

Open your windows without letting insects in. Wynstan’s fixed flyscreens are custom-made to fit any window shape or size, professionally installed across Sydney and Melbourne, and backed by a 3-year warranty. Frames are available in a wide range of powder-coated colours to match your existing window frames, so they blend in rather than stand out.
Mesh options
Fibreglass mesh: The standard choice for most Australian homes. Economical, effective, and if properly maintained it won’t rust, rot or corrode. Suits the majority of residential windows in Sydney and Melbourne.
Aluminium mesh: A more durable option than fibreglass, with greater strength and resistance to damage. A good choice for high-traffic windows or where a longer lifespan is the priority.
Fire mesh: Thin stainless-steel mesh rated to BAL-40 of the Australian Bushfire Standard, with an aperture of approximately 1.5mm. Required in many bushfire prone areas, Wynstan flyscreens can be custom-made to meet your local council’s bushfire regulations.

Not sure which mesh you need? If your property is in a bushfire prone area, check with your local council for the applicable BAL rating. Our consultants can advise on the right mesh spec for your location during the measure and quote.

Common questions
Do flyscreens reduce airflow? No. The mesh keeps insects out while allowing fresh air to pass through freely. You get the ventilation without the bugs.
Can flyscreens be fitted to any window? Yes. Wynstan flyscreens are custom-made to fit windows of any shape or size, standard rectangular windows, arched windows, louvre windows and more.
What’s the difference between a fixed flyscreen and a retractable flyscreen? A fixed flyscreen stays in place permanently over the window opening. A retractable flyscreen retracts into a slim cassette at the side or top of the frame when not in use, a better option for windows where you want unobstructed access or an uninterrupted view. Wynstan offers both.
Do I need fire mesh? If your property falls within a bushfire prone area, your local council may require BAL-rated mesh. Wynstan’s fire mesh option meets BAL-40 of the Australian Bushfire Standard. Check with your local council for the specific requirement for your property.
