I am extremely happy with the services rendered by Wynstan. The Sales Consultant Brendan displayed professionalism and helped me to choose the most suitable blockout roller blinds and Plantation Shutters for my house. Bruce was very prompt, arrived on time and installed the roller blinds effortlessly. Today Nick Bond, the Shutter Installer, did an excellent job. He installed the Plantation Shutters perfectly, neat and tidy. The measurements which he previously took were very accurate and Shutters were an exact fit for door and windows.

Over the last two years, we’ve engaged Wystan on several occasions to install shutters throughout our apartment; we started by doing one large window and were so impressed with the results that we gradually did all the other doors and windows too. Nick from Wystan has done all the installation work, completing the last job this morning. The quality of Nick’s workmanship is excellent and, in addition to that, he’s always friendly, on-time, and thoroughly cleans up before finishing the job - we could not be happier with the results he has achieved. The shutters look great and the price was very competitive; we would engage Wynstan without hesitation for any future work.

Great service, quote was fast and efficient and installation by Simon was very professional. Ladies in the office were lovely and helpful too. The product looks great (shutters). The only downside was the wait for product to be made and shipped from China as it took 10ish weeks which we were advised about. Otherwise a great experience!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What materials are Plantation Shutters available in?
- Fauxwood (PVC) – Waterproof and great for wet areas like bathrooms and kitchens but slightly heavier than wood.
- Solid Wood– Lightweight and elegant but require maintenance and isn’t ideal for high-moisture areas.
- Aluminium – Highly durable and perfect for outdoor use or safety-focused installations, but generally more expensive.
What colours and styles are available for Plantation Shutters?
We offer a wide range of styles and colours to suit any home. While classic white Plantation Shutters remain our most popular choice, we can also customise your shutters to match any colour using the Pantone colour chart. Whether you prefer timeless neutrals or a bold statement shade, we can create shutters that perfectly complement your space
Are Plantation Shutters easy to clean?
Yes, Plantation Shutters are incredibly easy to clean, making them a low-maintenance window solution. Regular dusting with a soft dust glove helps keep them looking fresh. For a deeper clean, simply open the shutters and use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust from the tracks.
How to Maintain and Care Plantation Shutters?
Proper care ensures your Plantation Shutters remain in top condition for years to come. Follow these simple maintenance tips:
- Regular Dusting: Use a soft dust glove or microfiber cloth to remove everyday buildup.
- Deep Cleaning: Wipe with a damp cloth and mild detergent to remove grime or stains.
- Coastal Homes: If you live near the ocean, clean shutters more frequently to prevent salt buildup.
- Prevent Corrosion: Apply rust-resistant oil to metal components to extend their lifespan.
What is your Warranty Policy for Plantation Shutters？
At Wynstan, we stand by the quality of our Plantation Shutters with a 5-year warranty against manufacturing defects. This warranty applies when shutters are:
- Installed by a Wynstan Authorised Representative
- Properly maintained according to care instructions
- Accompanied by proof of purchase
The warranty covers repairs or replacement, including service calls, parts, and labour, but does not cover normal wear and tear. For more details, refer to our Warranty and Care Guide.
Are Plantation Shutters 100% blackout?
No, Plantation Shutters block out most light but are not completely blackout due to small gaps between the louvers. If you’re looking for total light control, consider pairing shutters with Blockout Curtains for enhanced darkness and insulation.
Are Plantation Shutters waterproof?
Some materials are waterproof. Fauxwood shutters are perfect for humid areas like bathrooms and kitchens, as they resist moisture and warping. However, wooden shutters should be kept dry to prevent swelling, cracking, or damage over time.
Is there a size limit for Plantation Shutters?
There is no overall size limit for Plantation Shutters, as they can be designed to cover an entire wall. However, each shutter panel has a width limit based on material:
For larger windows, multiple panels are combined, ensuring both durability and functionality.
Do Plantation Shutters increase home value?
Yes! Plantation Shutters are a premium window treatment that adds style, privacy, and energy efficiency to your home. They are a sought-after feature that enhances curb appeal and can increase your property’s value.
Why are my shutter blades not turning smoothly or easily?
If you’re experiencing difficulty with your shutter blades’ movement, ensure you check that the pin on the blade’s end has not been damaged or bent. If it needs replacing, you can order new shutter pins with Wynstan today.
Do Plantation Shutters provide noise reduction and insulation?
Yes, plantation shutters provide both noise reduction and insulation. Their thick, solid construction helps block external noise, creating a quieter indoor environment. Additionally, they offer excellent insulation by trapping air between the shutters and the window, helping to regulate indoor temperatures. This reduces heat loss in winter and keeps rooms cooler in summer, improving energy efficiency and lowering utility costs.
Do you offer free installation, and how experienced are your installers?
Yes! We provide free professional installation with every plantation shutter purchase. Our expert installers are highly trained professionals with years of hands-on experience. They ensure a perfect fit, precision, and customer satisfaction.
