Our Story
We’re proudly Australian here at Wynstan – 56 years young, a family-owned business and creating jobs for over 450 Aussies. Our products are also Australian made, manufactured in our 22,000sqm factory in Yennora NSW. We also have our 30 Showrooms across New South Wales and Melbourne and 6 in California USA.
A Family Business
As Australia’s longest standing, trusted manufacturer of custom window and door fashions, we’re proud of our heritage. We are a family-owned-and-operated business and have been supplying Australian homeowners with beautiful blinds, doors, shutters and awnings since 1968. Indeed, our family history and Wynstan are woven into a success story that spans three generations.
Where It All Began...
Charles Turner and son, Bruce, began producing burglar and alarm systems in Burwood NSW back in 1968. In 1986, Charles & Bruce create the first-ever aluminum security door to hit the market and it was a huge success!
Hello 90’s
Charles & Bruce purchase a company called Wynstan, ‘Wyn’ happened to be the nickname of Bruce’s Grandma Wynafryd so the family saw this as a good omen! The 90’s also saw the opening of the first pink showroom in 1991 at Smithfield, the launch of the ever-so-catchy ‘Wynstan with a Y’ radio ad and the addition of Bruce’s kids to join the business.
Fast Forward
In 2006, Mr Wynstan (the mascot) was born - fit with hair to match the Turner Family! In 2009 he also slimmed down into “a more fabulous version of himself”. In 2012, Wynstan expands to Victoria and three years later also California USA. Today we employ over 450 staff and contractors and continue to innovate and invest in keeping manufacturing and operations here in Australia!

Child Safety
The Turner family behind Wynstan believes in looking after your family too, which is why we fit our blinds with child safety devices or our WYNMOTION motorisation options. The Wynstan team takes its child care safety responsibilities very seriously.
Most people don’t give a second thought to the cords used to open and close curtains and blinds, but these seemingly innocent items are capable of harming young children and babies.
It may only take just a few seconds for a baby or young child to become entangled in blind cords. This can happen when cords are too long or they end in a loop. If a child slips, moves quickly or plays with a cord.
This is why Wynstan ALWAYS fits a child safety device on every cord-operated product. These safety devices are intended to remove the hazardous loop from the reach of children.
Our blinds are also supplied with installation instructions and it is very important that these instructions are followed.
When purchasing new made-to-measure blinds please feel free to ask your Sales Consultant to show you what safety features are available and make sure you understand how to use them.

A Wynstan sales consultant will provide you with a free measure and quote either in your home or online via FaceTime, What’s App or Zoom. At this consultation, we provide a measure and quote, fabric samples, colour swatches and photos for inspiration – so you can select the perfect product and look for your home. Seeing your fabric options in your home environment will give you valuable feedback and assurance that you are making the right choices. You can decide the style entirely yourself, or our experts can suggest creative solutions for your needs.
3. Custom-made Manufacture
Our products are custom-made to your specifications in our Australian-based leading-edge manufacturing facility, using quality materials and workmanship. Wynstan products are built to last, providing peace of mind and ensuring that you will enjoy them for years to come.
4. Expert Installation
At a time that is convenient for you, an expert member of our Installation Team will install your chosen product in your home. We show you how to use the product and explain care and cleaning techniques. Peace of mind is assured with our warranty for all products, and if you have any questions afterwards, no problem – we provide friendly and thorough after-sales support.
