Wynstan x Space Invaders: Three Seasons, Thirty Homes
Wynstan was the proud window furnishings partner for all three seasons of Channel 9’s Space Invaders — the show that brought renovation queen Cherie Barber, declutter guru Peter Walsh, and treasure hunter Lucas Callaghan into the homes of Australian families who had lost control of their clutter.
Across 30 episodes, Cherie made a different window furnishing decision for every home she renovated. Each product followed the room, the light, and the family living there — not a formula.
Season 1
Season 1 introduced Wynstan to the Space Invaders audience, with Cherie choosing from our blind and curtain range across ten homes. No two episodes used the same product in the same way.
For empty nesters Julie and Peter, Vision Blinds in Lucca White and Sienna Biscuit brought a fresh, uncluttered finish to a home being reimagined for a new chapter of life. The dual-layer construction lets you shift between filtered light and full privacy — ideal for a living room and bedroom that needed to feel calm and considered.
In a small rental Californian bungalow being converted into a combined dining room and home office, Cherie chose an open-weave Roller Blind in Bells Ivory — practical enough for a workspace, with just enough privacy from the street.
For Kash’s kitchen renovation, Veri Shades in Standard Soft White went on the sliding doors connecting the kitchen to the patio. Their individual fabric vanes mean you can walk straight through without pushing the blind aside — the right call for a space designed to flow indoors to out.

Season 2
Season 2 expanded the range. Cherie brought in curtains, honeycomb shades, and plantation shutters alongside the blinds she had used in Season 1 — matching each product to the specific needs of the home.
A printed Roller Blind in Topsy Pastel added character to a 70s-era kitchen rather than neutralising it. Blockout Curtains in Audible Nutmeg gave the adjacent living room proper light control without losing warmth. In a home being renovated for a family with two autistic daughters, Honeycomb Shades in Moonlight Snow were chosen for the dining room specifically for their noise-reduction properties alongside their energy efficiency — a detail that mattered more in that home than in most. Veri Shades in Net White went on the kitchen sliding doors, and Australis Plantation Shutters in white finished the bedrooms and living room: cord-free, durable, and easy to maintain.
Season 3
Season 3 introduced new host Angie Kent alongside Cherie and Peter, and the product range expanded again. This was the season that showed the full breadth of what Wynstan supplies — from kids’ room roller blinds to Crimsafe security doors.
Roller Blinds featured heavily, particularly in apartments where the slimline profile made the most of limited window space. In kids’ rooms, Cherie used printed fabrics — tropical leaf and botanical prints — to give the spaces genuine character rather than a safe neutral. Veri Shades appeared across multiple episodes in living spaces and guest rooms, with fabric choices ranging from Eclipse Night to Luxury Indigo to Alpine Beige depending on the room’s palette. Vertical Blinds in Baltic Chalk suited the scale of a large family room. Aluminium Venetian Blinds in Smooth Grey Sheen were chosen for a home office — practical, durable, and easy to adjust for privacy throughout the day. And in one episode, Cherie added a Crimsafe Ultimate Security Door — giving the home security without compromising airflow or the outlook.
Every product across all three seasons was custom-made and professionally installed by Wynstan. That’s how the show worked, and it’s how we work with every home we visit.
